Before you ask, no Murph of Love Fame Tragedy didn’t perform any songs from his other band The Wombats.

Now that’s done, lets move on with Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy in mind as a new artist.

Love Fame Tragedy is a name very much in line with the theme of the songs- celebrating the trials and tribulations going through Murph’s head.

Starting the night with Backflip, a personal favourite and the second song released, the audience were ready and raring to go.

The set was lively and energetic and every song hit the right note with the crowd. That being said, it hasn’t changed all that much from last years short tour- with the exception of a few songs.

Of course, this is to be expected with a new band with a limited backlog of tunes, but it would be nice for it to be bulked out a bit. Maybe a cover? A Tame Impala cover?

Without a doubt, the fan favourite is still very much My Cheating Heart- a great song that had everyone bopping in the encore.

Love Fame Tragedy is definitely one of the better side projects to ever be birthed. Murph has a stage presence that commands an audience and the songs are a breath of fresh air.
